Facial Implants
With advancing age, thinning and loss of volume occur in all structures on our face from skin to bone. Facial implants can make your facial appearance more balanced by adding volume and shape to the areas we apply. Chin and cheek implants are widely used to achieve beautiful facial features with lasting results.
What are Facial Implants?
Facial implants are medical products made of biocompatible material. They are available in various sizes and shapes and provide lasting results. In our meeting, we will choose implants that will improve your facial appearance by creating natural-looking contours.
The main purpose of facial implants is to provide volume support in areas with volume loss, and may not solve wrinkles, fine lines or sagging skin problems on its own. If these conditions are a concern for you or you want to improve other areas of your face, additional facial plastic surgery may be recommended.
Jaw Implants
Chin implants can make a dramatic difference in facial balance. If you think your chin is too small for your face or your chin is not too deep, a chin implant can create a more proportional and distinctive lower face.
Jaw Implant Procedure
Before surgery, you will be given intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. Depending on your facial structure and the result you want, an incision will be made inside your mouth or under your chin. The implant is placed opposite your jawbone and under your tissue. This results in a chin that looks and feels natural. You will be able to go home a few hours after the procedure.
Cheek Implants
Plump cheeks are a sign of youth. If genetics, age, or injury have caused flat or saggy cheeks, cheekbone augmentation with implants can lift and fill in this area.
Cheek implants are available in many sizes and shapes. I will advise you on helping you choose cheek implants that complement your facial structure without looking overdone or fake.
Cheek Implant Procedure
The procedure begins with general anesthesia or intravenous sedation. A small, hidden incision will be made inside your mouth or under your eyelids to insert the implants. You can return home the same day.
Am I a Candidate for Facial Implants?
For chin and cheek implant surgeries, you must meet some basic health and lifestyle requirements. You may be a good candidate for facial implants if:
º Good general health
º non-smoker
º If you want improvement in the appearance of your chin or cheeks
º If you have realistic expectations
º Facial Implant Healing
You will be given some care instructions for your post-operative incisions. There will be some swelling and tenderness in the treated area. Discomfort can be managed with medications and cold compresses.
Care should be taken to protect your face from impact or abrasion during healing. You can usually return to work within a week of your surgery, with possible exceptions for physically demanding activities.
