Breast Lift

Breast lifting tightens sagging breasts, giving your chest area a youthful appearance. If you are dissatisfied with the position or symmetry of your breasts, we can help you achieve a natural-looking result.

What is Breast Lifting?

After processes such as weight fluctuations, breastfeeding, pregnancy, aging, and gravity, the breast tissue may lose its natural structure, experience volume loss, and the breast skin may become loose and sag. Breast lift surgery (mastopexy) is a surgical procedure in which breasts that are not large but have lost their firmness and sagged are lifted to a suitable position. Mastopexy involves removing excess skin and reshaping the breasts to create an attractive and youthful appearance. For patients whose breast volume is insufficient, breast augmentation surgery should also be performed along with the lift for better results. With this versatile procedure, the appearance of excessively large nipples or areolas can also be corrected.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Breast Lift?

If you are dissatisfied with your sagging breasts, you are likely a good candidate for a breast lift. Ideal breast lift candidates:

  • Are in good general health,
  • Are at or near a healthy weight,
  • Do not smoke,
  • Have long, flat, or sagging breasts,
  • Have downward-pointing or overly large nipples,
  • Have asymmetrical breasts,
  • Want to improve the results of breast augmentation surgery.

This list is intended as a general overview and in no way replaces a personal consultation. During the examinations, I will work closely with you to understand your specific concerns and aesthetic goals. I will review your medical history and evaluate your physical condition. I will answer your questions, address your concerns, and determine whether a breast lift surgery can realistically achieve the result you desire.

Breast Lift Surgery

Breast lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The surgery can take 3-4 hours depending on the procedures to be performed. There are various mastopexy techniques. Depending on your situation, I may recommend one of the following surgical approaches.

Donut Incision

Also known as a periareolar lift, the donut incision involves a circular incision around the edge of the areola. It is suitable for patients with very mild breast sagging.

Lollipop Incision

The lollipop lift or vertical lift involves a circular incision around the areola and a vertical incision extending from the areola to the breast crease (inframammary fold). It is suitable for patients with moderate breast sagging.

Inverted T Incision (Anchor Incision)

The inverted T lift involves three incisions and is primarily used for patients with significant sagging issues. The first incision is made around the edge of the areola, the second is made vertically from the areola to the breast crease, and the third is made along the inframammary fold.
Regardless of which breast lift technique is used, one of our top priorities is ensuring that your results look elegant and natural, and that your scars remain as concealed as possible. Some mastopexy incision methods, such as the periareolar approach, are almost imperceptible by design, while other scars can be easily hidden under a bra or bikini top. Scar treatment will also be provided to help minimize your scars and enhance your beautiful results.

Breast Lift Recovery Process

Breast lift surgery is an operation that patients can tolerate easily, and the recovery process is comfortable. After the surgery, you will need to wear a special, supportive bra for about 4 weeks. Mild to moderate swelling is normal and may cause the breasts to appear larger after surgery, but this will subside within a few weeks. Walking is recommended the day after surgery, but strenuous exercises should be avoided for at least 4 weeks.
