FACE LIFT

A facelift (Rhytidectomy) can help you achieve a refreshed and younger facial appearance. This procedure removes signs of aging on the face by tightening muscles and smoothing wrinkles. For comprehensive facial rejuvenation, a combined facelift can be performed with eyelid aesthetics and/or brow lift and fat filling.

Benefits of Face Lift

As you get older, your skin and tissues go through a change you can't stop. We see signs of aging such as loss of skin elasticity, sagging skin, thinning, wrinkles and loss of volume that affects all tissues from bone to skin. Sun damage and stress also take a toll on your sensitive facial skin over time.

Face Lift Candidacy

Many factors are taken into account when determining whether you are a good facelift candidate. Depending on your treatment goals, an alternative surgery or a non-surgical cosmetic procedure may be performed. Some general criteria for facelift candidacy include:

º If you are a non-smoker or willing to completely abstain from smoking for some time before and after surgery
º If you are generally healthy
º You have realistic expectations for treatment

Facelift Techniques

During the initial examination, we will discuss your goals for the procedure and options for achieving the results you want. There are many approaches to a facelift, but most likely one of the following will be applied:

Traditional facelift – This is the most common technique and involves an incision starting at the temples above the hairline. The incision continues around your ear down to the scalp.

Limited incision facelift – This version includes incisions just in front of and below the ear.

Face Lift Procedure

Although there are some standard elements that apply to all facelift procedures, your facelift procedure will be specially planned for you.

Anesthesia – General anesthesia or sedation will be used to keep you comfortable during the facelift.

Incisions – After being under anesthesia, necessary incisions will be made for the procedures. These incision lines will be made in the hairy area, in front of and behind the ears, where we can hide them. After the procedure is finished, your incisions will be closed with tissue glue, stitches and tape.

Face Lift Healing Process

You will be given specific instructions for your recovery process. It is important to follow their advice to have a smooth healing process and get the best results from the procedure.

After the operation, the dressing will be removed the next day. Your stitches will be removed after five to ten days. Swelling and bruising usually subside within two to four weeks. Typically, you can return to work after about two weeks.

Your final results will be visible a few months after surgery. Strenuous activity, heat and sun exposure should be avoided for several months. Your incision lines will become vague within a year.
